There are other medical facilities in nearby Cedar Point, Cape Carteret and Swansboro, and we’re near 2 hospitals, Onslow Memorial in Jacksonville and Carteret General in Morehead City.

There are a variety of stores available right on the island, including Food Lion, and many great gift stores, beach shops, a dollar store and Salvation Army Thrift Store.

What would the beach be without great seafood restaurants? There’s Jordan’s House of Seafood, Rucker John’s, Bushwacker’s and Tortugas, to name a few. Most offer a variety besides seafood. There’s also Mimi’s Dessert Shoppe, Dairy Queen and Ben & Jerry’s.
