Town dock on Bogue Sound in Cape Carteret, NC

Boating & fishing are in our backyard, since Cape Carteret borders Bogue Sound and the Intracoastal Waterway. Beach or ocean access is nearby, each a short drive or trip by boat. The town provides a pier at the end of Anita Forte St and a boat ramp at the end of Manatee St. There are also public boat ramps available nearby on the Intracoastal Waterway and the White Oak River.

Although located near several large municipalities and associated shopping facilities, Cape Carteret continues to offer easy living and lots of recreational activities.

     A K-5 elementary school is centrally located in town with middle and high schools nearby (White Oak Elementary, Broad Creek Middle and Croatan High). Cape Carteret is also about mid-way between 2 excellent community colleges. About 20 minutes away in Jacksonville is Coastal Carolina Community College. Located in Morehead City, Carteret Community College also offers several classes at Western Carteret Library in Cape Carteret.

     Cape Carteret Aquatic & Wellness Center offers a full service gym, with a variety of programs including temporary rates for visitors.

     Banking assistance is offered at branches of PNC, Wells Fargo and First Citizens banks. Also in town, Marine Federal Credit Union.

     Food markets and convenience stores are available, as well as fast-food and restaurant services.

     The Golfin’ Dolphin offers entertainment for the family with a 50-tee driving range, baseball & softball batting cages, an 18-hole miniature golf course, bumper boats & go-carts. Also, MacDaddy’s bowling alley & arcade

Each is approx 45 minutes away, with connecting flights to Charlotte, NC (CLT). Kinston Regional Jetport (ISO) is just a little further. If small planes are your thing, nearby Star Hill Golf Course has a small, private airstrip.
