About Bogue

Christy Crumpler

Home of Bogue Airfield

Bogue was incorporated as recently as 1995, but its roots are far deeper. It was established in January 1713 by a grant to Dexter Ebenezer by the King of England.

Bogue remains very small-town, and is one of several towns sharing the Newport mailing address.

Bogue is home to many businesses, most located on Hwy 24, and part of the Newport Hwy 24 corridor.

Schools are nearby White Oak Elementary in neighboring Cape Carteret,  Broad Creek Middle and Croatan High just a few miles east in Broad Creek. Bogue is also about mid-way between 2 excellent community colleges. About 30 minutes away in Jacksonville is Coastal Carolina Community College. Located in Morehead City, Carteret Community College also offers several classes at Western Carteret Library in neighboring Cape Carteret.

Carolina East Internal Medicine and Cape Carteret Family Medicine, both in neighboring Cape Carteret offer treatment for minor emergencies, complete family care, including a variety of specialists operating part-time from their offices. We’re also near 2 hospitals, Onslow Memorial in Jacksonville and Carteret Health Care in Morehead City.

Carolina Home & Garden offering beautiful plants for your garden and landscaping business with special events such as Thursday Nights in the Garden with live music, corn hole tournament, garden classes, and they offer a beautiful location for weddings and parties. Inside, they also have Logan’s Boutique with clothing, gifts and more.

Bogue Sound Watermelons and more are available at one of the Fruit & Vegetable stands on Hwy 24. Offered only in season of course.

Just north of Cedar Point off Hwy 58 is Croatan National Forest with Cedar Point Walking Trail, a boat launch and campground. Especially popular for hunters & fishermen.
